With almost 300 million registered cars in the US, automotive service is essential for many Americans. As many need repair, maintenance, tune-up, and other auto services, an all-in-one service would be best to save on time and expenses. And one of the companies that provide such an opportunity is All Tune and Lube. But how much does an All Tune and Lube franchise cost?

In this article, learn more about the automotive service franchise and its costs to start one.

All Tune and Lube Franchise Overview

All Tune and Lube (ATL International, Inc.) launched its business in 1985. A year later, they started franchising. Aside from that, they have been part of the International Franchise Association since 1988. Based on their latest franchise disclosure document, they have over 30+ franchised units.

All Tune and Lube has a multi-brand franchise that would make up a whole Total Car Care center for franchisees. So, aside from All Tune and Lube, there’s also the ATL Motor Mate and All Tune Transmissions. A franchisee can purchase one or any of the combinations.

They aim to be the one-stop-shop for all things automotive! Other than that, they want to provide high-quality service without compromising on convenience and speed.

Here are the services offered by All Tune and Lube:

  • General repair and servicing
  • Engine service replacement
  • Transmission services
  • Fleet services

Some of their accounts are Auto Club of America, Enterprise Fleet Services, and GE Capital for their fleet services.

Some of the competitors of this automotive service chain are AAMCO, Meineke, and CARSTAR. Despite the competition, All Tune and Lube is gearing up to become one of the best automotive service franchises in the country.

Training

Franchisees have to undergo the mandatory Initial Training school conducted by ATL International, Inc. (the franchisor). Initial Training will last for a week and be held at the Maryland HQ. After that, there’s on-the-job training that can be completed within 80 to 120 hours before or during the franchisee’s center opens. However, training hours could also vary depending on the franchisor. Other than that, the franchisor can also require other training programs such as sales and operations.

Territories and Obligations

The franchisor will grant the franchisee a Designated Market. It should be located in a metro or an extended market. The designated market depends on the size and should include either:

  • Town, cities, counties
  • Metropolitan area

Aside from this, the franchisor won’t approve another site in an area where it can service 40,000 or more vehicles in the Designated Market.

A franchisee or a designated manager should supervise the center. Even with an on-site manager, the franchisor requires franchisees to serve 30 or more hours a week in the center. It’s to manage it. Aside from that, the franchisee should only sell the goods and services as required by the franchisor. Plus, the franchisee shouldn’t conduct any other activities that aren’t approved by the franchisor.

An initial franchise term lasts for 15 years, but franchisees can request a renewal. And if they’re in good standing with complete requirements, the franchisor can grant three 5-year terms.
