In a statement released this week, Muscle Maker Grill announced a new veteran franchise discount program for qualified veterans. The discounts include 50% franchise fee reduction and 50% discount of first-year royalties. The restaurant chain also announced it is investigating third-party financing opportunities to assist with franchise build out costs. Muscle Maker’s veterans discount will reduce the franchise fee from $35,000 to $17,500. The program, however, is only available to the first 50 eligible veterans.
Founded in 1995, Muscle Maker is a fast-casual chain serving healthier versions of mainstream-favorites. Muscle Maker’s diverse menu caters to fitness enthusiasts and health-conscious consumers on-the-go. Its menu features items with grass-fed steak and all-natural chicken. The menu also includes a variety of vegetarian, low-carb, and gluten-free items.
Non-Traditional, Military Focus
In its press release, Muscle Maker detailed its non-traditional growth model. In recent years the brand has focused efforts on growing its on-base, military presence. Muscle Maker’s veteran discounts aim to both give back to veterans and meet its non-traditional growth objective.
Muscle maker currently operates five military locations. Those include locations at Fort Bliss, Fort Benning, Fort Sill and Fort Meade. The company has plans to open an additional location at Camp Elmore Marine Base at the end of the month. Muscle Maker also recently announced it signed a lease to open on Fort Bragg Army Base, the largest military installation in the world.
Michael Roper, Chief Executive Officer of Muscle Maker, Inc, commented on the announcement. “As our military presence grows, there is an ever-increasing number of enlisted and retired veterans, as well as their extended families, who are building an increasing familiarity with our brand. As we begin to regrow our franchise network, this seemed like an excellent opportunity to give back, and to thank the hard-working men and women of the armed forces, by providing entrepreneurial opportunities.”
