Pizza franchise giant, Pizza Hut, announced plans to increase staff nationwide. The company has also introduced new procedures to meet customers’ changing demands during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hiring Increases to Meet Increased Demand

Pizza Hut and its franchisees are looking to fill more than 30,000 open positions nationwide. The open positions include cooks, shift leaders, restaurant managers, and virtual call center agents. The company noted it will also focus hiring efforts on delivery drivers. The move comes amid increased delivery demand as more customers order to eat at home.

Pizza Hut has indicated corporate and franchise locations will be expediting the hiring and onboarding process. The company’s goal is to accommodate people who are currently seeking jobs and meet increased store demand.

“Given the increased demand we’re seeing for delivery, we’re hiring new team members to help us feed America,” said Kevin Hochman, president of Pizza Hut U.S. “Whether through contactless delivery, curbside pickup, or carryout, we’re here to serve oven-hot pizza however customers want to get it. Based on families eating more together, we’re also seeing big demand for our new Big Dipper Pizza that is nearly 2 feet of pizza and has over 24 slices, so we’ll be extending the availability of that product, too.”

Enhanced Employee and Customer Safety Procedures

Pizza Hut also announced it would be ramping up safety precautions to ensure customer and employee safety during the pandemic. Among the new procedures, Pizza Hut is now offering Contactless Delivery nationwide.

Customers can select the option while ordering online, by incorporating a “contactless” description in online ordering delivery instructions. Customers can prepay and tip using any credit or debit card, and the delivery driver will notify the customer once the food has been dropped off

Pizza Hut is also offering:

  • Curbside Pickup.
  • Contactless Carryout.
  • A hands-free experience. Once the pizza leaves Pizza Hut’s 400+ degree oven, it slides hands-free into the box and straight to your home
